Anti-Bullying Week
12th – 16th November 2018
The theme for this year's Anti-Bullying Week is to choose respect over bullying.
The aims of this week are to support children to understand:
a. The definition of respect
b. That bullying is a behaviour choice
c. That we can respectfully disagree with each other i.e. we don’t have to be best friends or always agree with each other but we do have to respect each other
d. That we all need to choose to respect each other both face to face and online
We will be having an ‘Odd Socks Day’ on Monday 12th November – children and adults will wear odd socks to school to show that it’s ok to look different but that we are all still equal!
Each class will be having a go at a range of anti-bullying activities such as designing and making odd socks, learning the ‘Choose Respect’ song and signs, reading stories and performing raps!
There will be a whole school assembly on Tuesday 13th at 10am.
Miss Broadhurst is running a poster competition for children to design a poster about ‘RESPECT’ – there will be one winning entry chosen for Lower School and one for Upper School – details to be shared in assembly!
